They need games like that every now and again to remind them they aren't really that much better than any of the other contenders in the league. They started 2-3 last season with all their tough games in the first chunk of the season and then were never really challenged after. I cannot remember a single game after week 5 where I thought a loss was possible. So they steamrolled into the playoffs and had an abysmal game against the Ravens. So go ahead and lose a few in the regular season and look terrible doing it. And did they ever. Defense (mainly Vickerson) with multiple stupid penalties. Offense extremely vanilla and predictable. ST miscues. Foxball rearing it's ugly fucking head again. But now they come out on fire for awhile. |
I agree with this post. While I do believe that there were a few external forces at play, (manning crying before the game, the colts familiar with mannings play style, home field advantage, and a ravenous Colts team wanting to beat manning to prove a point) this game was a wake up call to the Broncos that they are not undefeatable. They will come out a better team becasue of it.
Am I the only one who feels that the injury to Champ, while unfortunate helps the team? Webster was a good draft pick and is a good player. I was also dissapointed with Von's performance as his impact while there was pretty insignificant. We need Woodyard back too.
