That was a very manipulative article. It ran a little bait and switch action that made it sound like it was written by an Xbox fanboy at first, then came back around with some of the negatives. I mean, really, "and Dead Rising 3 now looks like a smarter bet for open-world mayhem than Second Son"? Has to be intentional flame-bait.

And, holy cats, I'm getting sick to death of "the power of the cloud". It's almost insulting at this point.

Anyone get the impression that Harrison is really saying that consumers were just too dumb to get what they initially wanted to do with the XO?

Yup, I agree with him to a degree.

People rant and rave over wanting an all digital steam box, but when MS offer a good alternative to that, whilst still supporting boxed games, people lose their shit.

If MS had announced a purely digital box, we wouldn't have seen anywhere near the uproar we did. Which makes you wonder why people got so pissed in the first place if they're fine with a digital system ...

Of course not everybody wants a digital console at all, so I get their anger towards MS.

This article and the PS4 one from Edge make them seem .... much less professional than before.

Simply because it was MS. A lot of Sony fans jumped in to hate it, then used the reversal as yet another reason to hate it. Steam box is a good example of that. They didnt get the hate for offering something that was beyond what MS had announced.
