I still remember some of the arguments we had at school during the breaks about the SNES and the Mega Drive (Genesis). The famous "Mode7", the number of colours at the same time vs the total number of colors, the sound, etc. And in the end it all was about games and how better one was compared to the other.

But of course, the best part was going to your friends house and try those games by yourself, and viceversa.

I agree that nowadays (well, the 360vsPS3 discussions were the same), there is less passion but more hate, and it's more about cold facts, simple numbers like resolution and fps and not about the games and how fun or new they look.
