I'm not a big Forza fan, but credit due where credit due! These screens definitely look next generation, to me! Lest we forget that this is a launch game and looks better than even the most recent Forza title (as it should).

Can you please explain to me why these screens look next gen? (I'm serious by the way, I really don't see it.)

Especially the second one. The car model looks great, but not really any better than current gen games. Tire shadow on the barrier still looks pixelated. Ground looks extremely flat. The textures for the barrier supports show some wear; but that's also very flat.

This is really disappointing compared to GT2-GT3 and even FM-FM2 jumps.

Look closely at the assets. The ground is not extremely flat, the smoothness of the tires is apparent (clearly higher poly than current gen games), and the lighting is fine tuned for the atmosphere. I agree that the jump from previous gens was bigger, but we're reach the point of diminishing returns, anyway. These jumps won't be as pronounced as before, but they exist.

Plus, have you seen any of the footage? The game looks better than Horizon, without breaking much of a sweat.

The ground is extremely flat. The visual texture shows the presense of small rocks embedded in the ground; however, no bumps are visible. I agree with the tires, they certainly look nice. Fine tuning of the lighting is something that's done with current gen games as well though.

I have seen footage, and that's just the thing: this game doesn't look that much better than Horizon! That's why I'm so surprised with people being so impressed by it.
