Negative, there are a lot of Japanese animations aimed towards children, A LOT! The word anime is just a stupid catch phrase that people adapted to call Japanese animation cause they think French is so fucking kewl, but they are cartoons.

Well, in French, anime means cartoon so...

It comes from the word dessin anime, which literally means animated drawings.

While it may have originated in French because of the wording or the language, a big reason behind it was that anime was really popular in France, waaaaay before America was.

I remember watching cell eat android 17in France a full 7 years before it hit the states.


I know -_^b I'm just talking shit about my country is all, we already have a word, but we must take it from France cause that's the cool thing to do way back when!
