In a post in the other thread I said that one reason it may have been delayed is so it looks as if Sony is publishing more games. There's already a large number of games coming out on launch, so people won't really miss one game when there's 10+ retail titles for both consoles. Early next year when there's less coming out, one extra game there instead of launch will look like they're supporting the system more.
Also, maybe Sony thinks the few people who are interested will instead get Gran Turismo 6 or Need For Speed Rivals.
