Have you played all through and beaten both Metro: Last Light & Crysis, on high-end machines? Well, I have, and I stand by it. Metro is doing more with PhysX (and physics) than the latter. It's the bread and butter of PC tech. Battlefield 4 is irrelevant, as it isn't out. I'm talking now. |
Well you are entitled to your opinion, but don't think for a second I just made a half-hearted attempt to test it to make myself feel better. I was very careful to look for differences in multiple areas, and in fact my brother could 100% not tell when physx was enabled.
And yes I have played the Battlefield 4 beta. Entire sections of wall can be blown off, then you can use them for cover because they actually stay there and have colision. Bullet casings bounce off of everything and stay on the ground for a very long time (I never saw them leave), and there is actual combat on ocean waves. The waves are not in the background to just look pretty, they can be interacted with.
And there is my point: In BF4 the physics effect gameplay. PhysX will never effect gameplay as long as the code can only be run by Nvidia GPU's. Higher resolutions and AA make distant enemies easier to see while popcorn flying everywhere does nothing to help the player...
