Has it always been like this? I remember me and my friends use to download and share games. This was a few years back. Then Sony changed the number to 2 downloads. And that kinda killed it.

Also what we are saying is not necessarily in contradiction...it could be a case where you only need to deacticate/activate your PS3 once you have surpassed the 2 downloads. Sony can't not let you download games you already paid for.

But i know for sure that you can re-download games twice without the need to do any activating/deacticating. Ive done this myself. Maybe it has changed since then again i dont know :/

Seriously, you're making it sound more confusing than it has to be.

On the PS3 you aren't limited to two downloads.  You can download the game 500 times if you wish, even on consoles where the account isn't activated.  Let's say you did download the game to an account that wasn't activated.  It just wouldn't work, but as soon as you deactivated from another, then activated that one, the file would work.

Yoshida's tweet did confirm that you can play the same game on two different consoles at the same time through one digital version.  As I've said before, with what it says on the Knack preorder page, it's probably that game alone that has some sort of DRM tied to it since the rest of what it shows is that you can play games on two activated consoles, which is exactly what the PS3 listings show.
