Why do people keep bringing games instead of buying them?

If I had a penny for every time someone posted that he "brought" a game, I'd probably be able to buy a new game. If you find an example post maybe you could post it?  Was it something like "my friend brought it over" which just means a friend came over with something or "I brought The Last of Us day one." which is a spelling error.

Oh, no. It definitely wasn't anything like that. It was more like "I brought Muramasa rebirth yesterday for 20 quid". Since it's a digital item, I doubt there is a way to "bring" it somewhere.
