Wow, seems like Legend11 touched a nerve on a lot of people here...even though there are a lot of times I did not agree with him, I have to say that he makes some sense and I agree with his conclusion on this one.

If you don't understand, it is called reading comprehension and analysis. There are moments when you read something, and even though the character or person doesn't say it, you can tell what he/she means. For example, lets take this article as an example. Phil Harrison said "The things that excited me the most, the things that turned me on as a gamer, and as a business person, and as a creative person were the future of our industry, the connected community experiences - all the things we're starting to see emerge that are really exciting players around the world." Here, we can see that what Phil is excited by things that can bring gamers together as a community when it comes to being in the business of video games.

Later on he says "And those are the things I started thinking about in terms of creating a company or getting involved with a company to really shape and direct a business towards that future." That means he wants this to be in a company that is heading towards that future. Plain and simple.

Now, we all know that he is no longer at Sony. He quit his job, according to him. If you can use logic, if Phil willingly quit his job (according to the news that is given), then there is a big chance that he did not feel that Sony is heading to that future. I mean, lets check out Sony's future lineup of games for the PS3, the console of the future for Sony. You have MGS4 and FF13, games that deal with only one gamer at a time....not much of a community. You got Resistance 2 and KZ2, both FPS...only going to get the hardcore and semi-hardcore players, not too many casuals. Then you got the cost of the console, which is still not low enough to get the majority of the public to buy it, something the PS1 and PS2 had managed to do beautifully. That leaves Home and LBP, something that most of the public would not think is worth 400 to 500 bucks.

Sure, the console may drop the price (yet again), but we just won't know when or if that will be enough. All we know now for certain is that Phil quit his job and what Legend11 gave us are quotes from him in the end. Whatever else I speculated or Legend said is just speculation, and that my friends is something that doesn't deserve such harsh rebukes. Objections are okay, but being nasty about it just shows your insecurities about the situation.
