No actual time frame on this article, but Microsoft interview said around spring at EB Expo 2013.

Not to be "that guy" but the family share model will never come back...ever, without some extremely creative pricing model involved. (Read: expensive)

MS is not going to give 10 people access to a game for a single paid purchase. Third parties would boycott, and every game would be a gamble at making profit. In all liklihood, the best explanation there is for the linked 'announcement', is that they're using "potential" to sell the system.

They made no guarantee, no time frame, no specifics, and are hiding behind a throw-away excuse of "we don't want to confuse anyone". If they really wanted to bring back family share, and nothing else, they could do it for digital, and they should announce IMMEDIATELY. The 10 person family share was a HUGE deal. Fuck leaving customers confused. Such a feature needs to be confirmed NOW.

But that won't happen. The only explanation is that it never will without all of the drm that came with it, plus some. You could argue that maybe MS hasn't announced because they don't "need it as a feature" yet, but preorders and fucking giving away a huge franchise game (fifa) would beg to differ.
