Has anyone else had issues with this? I keep a replenishable money card handy for online purchases and gas, and this is the card I had tied to my PSN account. For the 3rd time in the last 9 months or so, it has been charged by Sony for a subscription that I either never signed up for, or had very clearly went into my account and disabled for auto renewal.

The first one was PS+. This was maybe 9 months ago? My subscription was close to expiring, I didn't see any games on the horizon worth keeping it for, so I went into my services list via the console and disabled it. Same as I have done other times. But a week or so later I am viewing my cards transaction list and lo and behold there is an $18 charge from PSN for PS+. Well fuck. So I chat with Sony and they say somehow the auto renewal wasn't canceled, and the best they can do is refund the money to my PSN wallet. I tell them to just keep the subscription, if I have to keep the money on PSN anyway, might as well keep PS+.

Fast forward a few months later and I get I believe a $9.99 charge for the Sony Music service, whatever it is called. Just out of the blue. No idea how it could have happened. I tried to go to the music app on the console and just to even start it I'd need to download updates for it. So I know someone else didn't use my console to sign up for it. Talked to Sony again and this time I told them yes, put that shit back in my PSN wallet.

Today it happened again. I was looking to fill the car up but ended up about $7 short. Pulled out my phone and saw $18 taken out to PSN. Sure enough my PS+ subscription was set BACK to auto renewal. I had ended up using that $10 refund from the music to help pay for another 3 month PS+ subscription for some game.. I don't remember which one they were renting out to PS+ people. I set the auto renewal to off. About a week ago I got a message from Sony in my PSN inbox telling me my subscription was about to lapse and I should set up another subscription and/or renew. To me, this meant I was not set for renewal, otherwise why send the message? Yet again I am charged. The guy I chat with tells me there must have been some network issues when I turned auto renewal off via the console. Horse shit. Tells me the best he can do is submit it for review and put the funds in my wallet. I tell him to go ahead, and that either way I have made my last PSN purchase.

Has anyone else had these sort of issues on PSN? I really hate how you cannot give either of these companies your card information and not have to worry about these types of shenanigans. I have subscriptions to various other things online and offline and never have the issues I have had with Sony and MS. Oh well, I gave them 3 chances. No more PSN purchases from me. The weirdest part is how they will say they can "refund the money" but it actually just goes back to your wallet. Which will eventually go right back to them anyway, so it's not really a refund at all.
