I guess Microsoft from a business and consumer point have been proved right with their pay to play.

They probably made as much money with Xbox 360 and Live than if they had no charge but sold 150 million 360's by now. 7 years of Paying customers has made them billions.

No wonder Sony thought hang on we have to do this to.

Business and consumer? No, just business.

It's about as anti-consumer as it gets. Hey guys, thanks for paying a bunch of cash for this console which doesn't even have a built in wireless adapter, oh and btw pay us $60 a year so you can use your own internet to play peer-to-peer.

Companies are about making money - Sony included.

I suppose your right. Im not going to go into why paying has provided me with a better service than what I have had without paying. It will just end in war on here.

But yeah definately from a business stand it was a smart decsion. Plenty of people must have seen value in Lives pay model to continue using it for 7 years when the competition is free.
