I think the challenge is too often evolution via natural selection is not conveyed well to people creating misunderstandings.

It is not surprising to me that people within the field that study it daily tend to simply understand the process rather than putting in any super natural elements.

The evidence is so overwhelming and has mountains of research over the centuries in support of it. The big question is why this upsets people more than, say, gravity which to me is a much harder thing to wrap ones head around yet no one counters it with a super natural explanation.

For some reason the notion that homo sapiens sapiens (modern humans) are not "special" or separate from the rest of life is upsetting to people and challenges teachings and traditions within cultures. So, we have this battle of sorts for mind share because they feel threatened by this reality.

My hope is that people understand that understanding life and how it works benefits us greatly and clinging to old thinking such as astrology or alchemy would be as counter productive as creationism.

I cannot begin to explain how much I agree with this post.

Not sure why people's beliefs might bother others. Then again I don't live in America so I'm not sure how this affects those who don't believe. Are non-believers persecuted somehow?

It doesnt bother anyone the OP is just very intolerant person. No one get persecuted and if anyone really does it would be the religious people

This is now the 3rd off topic post in an attempt to insult me. I'm fine with you posting in my thread, but stay on topic.

Is it Old Earth creationism or Young Earth creationism? There is a difference

YEC, see the OP chart. Those who believe god created humans in their current form.
