If that's your definition of JRPGs then you might as well not use that term at all because it really doesn't make sense.
What's the point of seperating genres only based on where they come from?
Based on your definition you should just call it a RPG because the Japanese part isn't defining the genre but simply the country of origin.
But that's all beside the point. Dragon's Dogma is hardly a RPG to begin with.
