Yes it is a JRPG as in it's a RPG (then again..) made in Japan but not a 'JRPG' as a genre.

well why do WRPG's get grouped similarly, but JRPG's don't Skyrim and Dragon Age are just as different as Dragon's Dogma and Final Fantasy? WHY WHY WHY WHY :).

Both genres are broken in their definition anyway.
