Just because you hear other games fine doesn't mean you'll hear this game the same. It depends on how the mix everything and what setup they make the game for. That's why there are usually multiple sound settings for games. Take GT5 for example. A lot of people said they didn't like the sound of the engines, but that game was intended for high end surround sound systems. Change the sound setting from living room, to small theater, and then to Large theater and you'll know what I'm talking about. I keep it in small theater mode because if I change it to Large Theater, the music level drops to a point where I would have to raise the volume too high to hear it because my subwoofer would get the police called on me if I was in any kind of car with a V8 or above. in this game's case, the music plays through my front left and right speakers with all the voice acting coming through the center speaker, so the music has dedicated pathways. If you don't have a system to support that pathway, the developers have to pick what gets drowned out when all the sound goes to just two speakers. |
And thats my complaint. You cannot change any of the sound in the menus. I looked everywhere!
GoW Ascension had a similar issue and setting it to headphones (oddly enough) and changing some stuff seemed to improve it even if slightly. But I couldn't even find a way to up the music or change the sound setting IN the actual game options for Beyond.
