The fact that when your mining with an nvidia GPU, you also lose more money than gain and I've heard reports about that at bitcoin and plus Since ASIC's are coming into the equation it will only get harder to mine therefore it will mean less coins unless your an ASIC user so it's pretty likely that mining with AMD GPU's aren't profitable anymore. ^_^ (I honestly thought that this would be common knowledge among all bitcoin users seeing as how they keep up with the latest news. -_-)

I'm not running nVidia. I'm running Triple Radeon 7970's and soon Quad R9 290X.

It's only un-profitable depending on the price of electricity and the power consumption your PC uses.
Granted as ASICS gain traction, it will be pointless for me to continue.

There will be a time where transistors will stop doubling, mark my words. ;P

Edit: Just so you know I expect volta to be at 2017 Q2.

Next they will probably just build smaller dies and stack them. :)

To keep ahead of AMD, it makes complete sense. Plus it hurts nothing, given that, as you said, it's on the same die. On the other hand, that is irrelevant since they're not chasing a new crowd with the Ultra.

Also, rumor has it the Maxwell GPU release has shifted to Q3 2014 at the earliest (which is smart, since Intel plans to release Haswell-E then).

I hope Haswell-E does arrive next year. Been on Sandy Bridge-E for 2 years now, I wan't more cores!

I know your not running with an nvidia gpu but mining is also unprofitable with an AMD GPU too because each time you mine it only gets harder and harder to make profit since the complexity of mining itself increases too.

The problem with that though is how will they solve the issue of heat.
