If your refering to a JRPG that has an extremely small budget than yes they should just put in subtitles, but for Tales of they can more than afford voice actors for the 15+ year series that has loyal fans around the world. If a game has the budget for it and knows they will still make a profit then they shouldn't short change the rest of their fans just because they can't speak Japanese, but if they have no other choice and the only way a game can be localized is without english voice acting then they should obviously just go with subtitles. |
Yet it also references actors like keith david who also does voice acting for small titles like the first fallout and the first saints row so I don't know what your excuse is about JRPGS also having a smaller fraction of the costs since small titles can also have costly actors too.
