no real opinion. i currently prefer the 360 controller to the ps3 controller but that is because the 360 controller has much better ergonomics. if the ps4 controller is a comfortable as "they say" i'll be a happy man.
in gameplay: i prefer asymmetrical for anything 1st person. it just feels good to push forward to move forward. i prefer symmetrical for anything that makes heavy use of the D-pad. i think that makes symmetrical more versatile across a wide range of genres which i like.
