Lol. LOL Beats are absolute shit. Anyone with any clue about all genres of music knows this, outside of bass heavy tracks they are awful. They are also very badly made. And no they weren't the first ones to be worn like fashion accessories either. Beats claim to have 64% of the market, I say that's bullshit. I will stick with my B&W cans thanks, far superior. The PS4 didn't influence the one to change, other factors did. Some people reacted badly to the ONE not because the PS4 was different, they reacted that way because the ONE was different. The ps4 isn't remotely influential. Not even a tiny bit. It's more of the same in a more powerful box.

My my..
As I had to explain earlier, Beats' audio quality doesn't bar them in any way from being an influential product - there are better sounding music players than the iPod out there but that certainly didn't stop that device from being influential - not a very good argument from you there. I think B&W headphones are overpriced for the sound quality too, for the record, just like Beats ;) Try some Beyers next time you have the chance, some DT880s perhaps. And to dismiss their marketshare by just saying you don't believe it..well, that's not even an argument, lol. And particularly funny considering how ubiquitous they've become on the streets, in trains, around celebrity's necks, in music videos , even as branding on other companies' tech over the past half decade.
And to claim the XB1 has not been affected by the PS4, after everything that's happened, is really putting the blinders on. Your wording is pretty ambiguous - I don't think even you believe it. 'Some people reacted badly' - yeh, the console buying market that is split between the big three - they 'reacted' after Sony clarified their stance post-E3 by hurling bloody indignation in MSes direction and pre-ordering the PS4 instead, or threatening to. If the PS4 had gone with MSes status quo the picture would be very different indeed. Your arguments here basically amount to clapping your hands over your ears and going lalala I'm not listening lalala.
All this arguing over some Gadget Show list too, lol, I didn't know they were still around. As for my opinion, I suppose the PS4 has shaped the direction of the console space for the next few years which must be worth something. It won't sell as much as a lot of other gadgets from this year and I bet there's some phone somewhere that has a new feature that's going to blow up into something big next year or whatever, but the unique (slow moving) nature of games consoles means the big three's products have a bigger importance placed on them than most new tech, in terms of influencing their market. And now that videogames have expanded to other platforms the big three's decisions have knock-on effects for those too. Not a bad pick (:
