| Machiavellian said: Actually there are some clear things for gaming and non gaming that are rumored. First would be the 3d vision glasses that were rumored based on that X1 document a while ago. The combination of motion with 3d glasses like the Rift should provide some really off the chart immersion. There is the rumored cortana AI, MS is in the process of developing. The power of this AI would be in that you tell it to do something along the lines of Siri or Google now and it does it. The fact you have the smart glass app that is integrated on all mobile devices could mean a very tight integration between Kinect, this Cortana and Smart glass. From my perspective, its not really an issue what we see or do not see today, its the commitment from MS on what they are trying to do with the device that is the key. Personally I believe MS dropping Kinect is on the same level as them dropping the wireless nic card in the X1. Kinect is not considered an add on for the X1, Kinect is the X1 in a sense like a controller is. Anyway, I believe we will see what happens in a few years. Nothing will be determined during launch or even a year after. |
I agree with you for the most part. I only think that most of the XB1 features will roll out over the next 12 months. I think that M$ knows that there is only so much information/messaging they can do at launch. They can contiinue to get press and advertising promos out of focusing on different features over time. Launch isn't the answer for most people. But 6 months after, when the rush is over and the slow rollout of the capabilities will continue to catch different segments of the populace. It will probably help when they have an ability to bundle in a game or two also.
