Most of the comments for NVidia cite poor drivers/support on AMD's side.

That is what annoys me so much!  I switched to AMD and had a FAR better driver experience, and none of my AMD friends have ever had any problems.  I realize our experience is not everyone elses', but come on if NONE of us have the problems it can't be as big a deal as some people like to pretend...

AMD had no critical driver problems since at least a year now. People are saying that for the sake of justifying themselves.

The problem is if people have had problems with their drivers on earlier cards, regardless of whether it is still the case now, they are much less likely to go back to AMD. It's a matter of trust. Once lost, it's hard to regain.
