At the time Aksys picked this up, there wasn't a whole lot of other games to choose from.
PSO2 & Tales of Innocence/Hearts wouldn't work, as SEGA/Namco seem unwilling to let other companies localize their games. Same deal with Valkyria Chronicles 3 & Final Fantasy Type-0 on the PSP, probably.
Then there's the niche stuff we've seen in the past few weeks like Hyperdimension Neptunia; Exstetra & Akiba Strip, but iirc none of that had been announced at the time Aksys were negociating this deal.
That leaves the niche stuff from earlier in this year. Demon Gaze was picked up by NISA; Monster Monpiece is a harder sell than most games; so I guess they picked up this. I'm not complaining, I'll try it out at some point.

Which is a ridiculously terrible price, and doesn't add much to this argument other than "Nintendo can get away with overpricing their HD "collections".
