I will say this, perhaps Microsoft should have waited for the Xbox One to release Kinect all together. Never should have sold it for the 360.
People remember that Kinect was more of a gimmick than anything this gen. It didn't do many of the things they said it would (remember scan in your skateboard) and many of the things it could do (remember gun customization in Ghost Recon) was cool the first time you used it and a waste of time after that.
It's legacy is that it was a gimmick at best
Kinect in theory may be pretty cool. In practice, it hasn't lived up to even low expectations
Kinect 2 may be the greatest thing since sliced bread. But it is held back by it's older brother if you will. Whether or not it lives up to everything Microsoft says it will is one thing. Whether or not people are willing to try it again or for the first time even after everything they heard before is another. Cheaper options out there in the PS4 and Wii U.
