I think the arguments in the OP are pretty solid. You mostly have good points I think.
But I still doubt very much whether kinect will add anything to gameplay itself with its motion tracking. That's the feature that was flaunted so audaciously by MS when Natal was announced and the resulting bitter taste in my mouth just won't go away.
But as an integration mechanism for the console environment - yeah. I see it being pretty cool.
