Ok, if you really feel like this is about equality, then why not start acting like an equal then? If women want to be treated as equals, they should stop whining about every little thing that doesn't really matter. I mean, so what if the fans of Tifa want her to have huge breasts? If you don't like it, then don't play it. It's not complicated.
It's similar to how men don't want to watch very feminine movies or very feminine music groups. We don't bother with it because we feel that women are entitled to like what they want to like. Again, if women want to be treated equally, then they should allow men to like what they want to like. Kojima is a freaking man, he's the freaking producer of MGS5, he's the freaking creator of the series, so if he wants freaking big breasts on the heroine, then he can get big ass breasts as big as Mount Everest if he wants.
On the other hand, you get a female game producer, director, whatever, and she wants the male hero to act like Robert Pattinson in Twilight, all unrealistically stupidly romantic and saying all sorts of stupid shit, GO AHEAD. Men aren't up in arms about how stupid that would be, and we would just let women play it and enjoy it.
That's equal isn't it? Equality is a double-edged sword. You can't ask for it without getting the consequences. You can't act like a super-vocal minority and expect the entire gaming industry to bow down to you.
Did you watch the Ms. World event recently in Indonesia? A very vocal minority of conservative Muslims thought they were self-entitled enough to force the cancelation of the event, and organizers had to move it to Bali and remove the swimsuit competition. That's stupid and the gaming industry cannot bow to the whims of a select few.
If MALE devs want their games to be sold to primarily MALES, in a MALE dominated action/fps/adventure/etc. genre market, then they CAN and SHOULD make female characters sexy.
