i dunno about that.  true, now developers will know every xbox has one.  ...but that extra $100 (or maybe more depending on who you believe) is the most significant reason why, imo, ps4 is troucing xbone in pre-orders and will continue to do so post-launch.  if ps4 outsells xbone then any developer that uses kinect in any meaningful way misses out on over half the market.   ..thus kinect doesn't get supported anyways as major publishers are only making multiplates but MS loses significant marketshare and all the revenues associated with those customers.

sony got it right, imo.

quote me if you want.  by and large only MS's first/second party games will support kinect.  3rd party will ignore it bundeled or not.

exactly, Sony put a touch pad on every controller, so devs know every ps4 owner has it, but i also expet all 3rd party devs to largley ignore that, thankfully it didnt add $100 to the price.

is anyone but killzone and the ps playroom using the touch pad?    i mean, lulz, sony doesn't even seem to be using it much and even then it is just a "swipe" button.    ...imo, sony mostly wanted it for OS features but like you said,.. thankfully it didn't cost sony $100 to add.
