It's really not, though, when you factor in the insanely cheap games. This year I've almost stopped buying console games (4-5 games at most) while I've bought something like 50 PC games (all digitally) for a total that is probably under $200...

Regardless, Valve are aiming to make all this easier and more apparent for the uninitiated soon enough. 

Well you could say that they are cheap but console games can be cheap too! You don't have to buy every release at 60 US$ xD.

The Steam Machine looks like a Pre- Built PC, which could ease the pain of building one. But they say the price is not going to be cheaper than current console or so I read in a thread yesterday.
