Because the thread isn't about God of War.  The thread is about Sony Santa Monica hiring for a critical project and unannounced title.


Yet all you have done is take shots at GOW, if you were here to talk SSM, you would be doing it.


I've seen that user taking shots at God of War a few times before, normally I just ignore them as they're probably just bitter that GoW3 is the most acclaimed game in the genre this gen & that GoW3/Ascension combined outsold Bayonetta + DMC4 + NG2 + MG Rising on PS3 + 360. Perhaps they don't like seeing a western game dominate the genre with those Japenese games all perfoming poorly and only Bayonetta (360) managed to scrape the 90% barrier vs 93% for GoW3 whilst all the others fell far short.

What other reason is there? If it's so boring and overrated then why do millions of people love the series and why are GoW 1,2 & 3 joint as the most acclaimed games in the genre ever? Not everyone will like it but if you don't then why bring it up when it's not the point of the thread? Why talk about it at all? Just silly really.

Anyway, ciritcal project is God of War IV because God of War: Ascension kind of damaged the series' reputation critically and it didn't sell as well as a mainline GoW normally does (still dominated every other hack 'n slash franchise though). I think it will be announced at E3 2014 and release March 2016, GoW3 was announced 2 years before release to it's possible. Hopefully it will be directed by Cory Barlog and he'll focus on expanding, innovating, improving & perfecting the SP experience and the focus on MP is to a minimum this time. I hope they go for Eygptian mythology next, just tell me this fan art isn't amazing and you wouldn't be excited for it!

 

 

The other unannounced project is Stig Asmussen's new sci-fi IP, must be pretty far into production by now, we'll see it at the VGA's and it'll release Q4 2014. I doubt there will be much more DLC for God of War: Ascension and apparently a lot of that team has moved to work on Stig's game, maybe the rest are now working on Barlog's game because I doubt Papy will be directing another game any time soon.

In the end we all win, an amazing new IP + God of War IV which will be more than a return to form due to PS4 + Cory Barlog.


Not surprising, prob a fan of another console so feels the need to put down any game on PS.
