| Dark_Feanor said: ^ ^ ^ 40% of 5Bi is 2bi. 32 MB is 32*64 * 2^10 ------------ 32kk times 64 bit address hunnn 2.14 Bi ok, you are correct. However, based on the this transistor count http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transistor_count We still have i7 Quad Core with 1.7Bi, Hexa Core Xenon with 1.9Bi, and you have to agree that the Jaguar Cores are much smaller than any of those. Could I give it a 1.2Bi, 1.3Bi? So, what about the GPU... acording to this http://www.techpowerup.com/gpudb/308/radeon-hd-7770-ghz-edition.html the Radeon 7770 with 16 CUs has 1.5Bi transistor. Should I give then 1.2Bi ? That sums up at 4.4Bi transistors. So, 600mi transistors are something that could not be overlooked. Am I right? |
First the HD 7770 have 10CUs not 16CUs. It is not 32MB eSRAM it is more (there are redundancy)... the GPU have 14CUs (two for redundancy)... so guessing:
- 8-core Jaguar CPU ~500 million transistors
- GCN GPU ~2.08 billion transistors (14CUs like HD 7790)
- 40MB of 6T-SRAM ~1.8 billion transistors
- 256-bit memory interface
- SHAPE Audio Unit
- 4x Data Moves
- Others fixed units
So only CPU, GPU and eSRAM is ~4.3 billion transistors... 700 million for Memory Control, 4x DMAs, SHAPE and others fixed units.
PS4 for comparision
- 8-core Jaguar CPU ~500 million transistors
- GCN GPU ~2.8 billion transistors (20CUs like HD 7850)
- 256-bit memory interface (I don't know)
- Audio processor?
