I torrent stuff all the time that I don't share. How someone got to that conclusion I have no idea unless they never torrented a file before.

To be fair the "restrictions on how you get that copy" actually do apply if you want to strictly adhere to the law.

But again the OP asked about whether we feel that it is morally right/wrong not legally - that's a different discussion that we will both be on the wrong side of unfortunately.

okay yeah that does make more sense but the other person is sharing it not you and you have a right to a copy. Not everyone has the ability to make a ROm of a Cartridge though, yet they still have a right to a back up. That part of the law sounds more like a loophole to keep people from being able to have a back up. Not sure it would stand up in court.
