Also, interesting is that if the PS3 continues to be ~16% down YOY, it will end 2013 with 84.53M sold. Of course, it'll be closer to 86M shipped. That means the PS3 will only have to ship 15M to tie, or possibly pass. the Wii. I don't think that seems that impossible of a feat to pull off in 2-3 years.


With China lifting their console ban, I think Wii still has a decent chance of passing PS1.  

Really? It's nowhere near that cut and dry.

Its not, but considering most of China is still poor, you have to factor in economics.  

I have no idea whether China is still interested in Wii, or if Nintendo will continue supporting the console in certain markets, but the opportunity is certainly there for "cheap family entertainment".
