Why do religious people celebrate the Winter solstice (xmas)? Or why are they off on Sundays?

The meaning of things change. I know muslim people who celebrate Christmas coz it's sort of a national holiday now. I celebrate it too (well, I gather with my family) and I certainly ain't a Christian. No shame in that. Yeah, we also say "Oh, my God" in English, etc.

Pretty silly OP.

Christmas is done in winter in an attempt to help the transition for nonChristians of the time.

Many Christian holidays have changed over the years to help people of other religions just like it was with Christmas.

I wonder if you complain on New Years that it isnt actually the "New year" or run around throwing it in peoples faces like it matters that a year is not exactly 365 days?

As for the Sabath I think that was made pretty clear in Genesis. Also many are not off on Sundays as they would be fired. Seems only certain religions are free to express their religous freedoms

You didn't get my point at all. I didn't complain about anything, dude. On the contrary, all those things are perfectly fine with me. I was saying that the OP complaining about the "goodbye" thing is stupid and pointed out some other examples of stupid things you could complain about that make no sense.

Please read the OP and read my post carefully again.

No I did read it but someone who comes off as high and mighty being the "troll whisperer" should have just explained it in a better fashion. Sorry I wasnt trying to be an douchebag I just wanted you to see things from a different perspective. I agree with you, just not your approach.

All I did was take your post style and turn it around on you. As you see it solved nothing. Granted I completely agree with most here that it is something that has changed its meaning. However most of you are doing just what Christians did a thousand or more years ago. Taking someone elses religous holidays and turning them into your own.

Oh, yeah, I agree. And I'm totally OK with that. ;)

No troll is too much for me to handle. I rehabilitate trolls, I train people. I am the Troll Whisperer.
