Forcing your junk to point downwards while sitting is definitely not comfortable. Plus you don't have to come in contact with the toilet if you stand. And on the off chance you have an erection, then sitting is virtually impossible--you'd have to squat at an angle or snap your dick in order to aim in the toilet. And let's not forget you have to pull your pants down if you plan to sit instead of just pulling your cock out of the flap in your pants/boxers. I mean, hell, that's what the flap is designed for!

Why would you need to force your junk down? It's flaccid to begin with unless you have a raging boner. I don't know about you, but I don't get aroused at the notion of pee pee time...but if you're into that kind of thing....all the power to you (kidding). Even if you had a temporary boner, it subsides very quickly if you're not encouraging it with your thoughts.
You're putting a lot of emphasis on a boner being detrimental to pissing while sitting. I have 20+ years of experience and no it's a) not very common to get a boner b) not difficult to manage because it subsides quick if you want it to and finally c) having an erection makes it physiologically more difficult to pee in the first place if you're like most men and if not peeing subsides an erection which is not good news for your pants, the floor or the seat if you're standing.
