I just found GTA5 dull. Perhaps I'm fatigued by the series, I don't know, but 'every single' mission bored me to death. TLOU gripped me from start to finish and I Couldn't wait to meet Joel and Ellie again, hence the 6 playthroughs. |
I don't think its necessarily series fatigue as much as its genre fatigue.
I haven't even been an avid GTA fan even though I've played a lot of GTA3 and Vice City with very briefly GTA4 and now like 80% into GTAV.
However I have played Sleeping Dogs, Just Cause 2, Saints Row 2, Mafia 2 etc (Hell I could partially throw in RDR there too if it wasnt for the vast difference in setting), all to a certain extent and well.. yeah.. the sandbox stuff just doesn't entertain quite as much as a gripping story does. I have to restrain myself from completing a story with great narrative since I will really struggle to NOT finish it instantly whereas sandbox games have me be able to turn them off at any point really.
I guess taste comes into it too.

I guess GTA V is a very good game, by the looks of it at least. Still TLoU is probably the best game I have ever played, can't believe I would be graced to play a better game in an foreseeable future, that would be too good to be true :D
