Because people want the Xbox but not the kinect. It kind of goes back to always online. Some people dont want to play online. thats not there thing. its anti consumer to bundle your product in a way to forces these people to either pay for something they dont want, or they can simply not buy. Giving options is always great for the consumer, and is the way to make your user base happy. more options means less profit but sometimes it helps sell more when people can choose exactly what they want.
