The Resident Evil remake didn't sell well mostly because you made it exclusive to a console that only sold 21 million units in a nine year span. The game was awesome. The platform it was chosen to only be on held it back. If that game would have released for all three consoles at the time, or even just the PS2, it would have done just fine.

EDIT: Now as others have pointed out, it had the same sales on Gamecube as RE4. So that cry baby "wah people didn't like it so we made RE4, RE5, and RE6 action based" is ridiculous. Again though, if you wanted "OMGWTF20MILLSALES!!" you should have done it multiplatform.
