Just ask yourself this and this especially applies to Angelus why is it that every PS4 game revealed at E3 has improved considerably since. Using KZ Shadowfall as an example which will be 1080p at 60fps multiplayer and 30FPS single. The game has come on leaps and bounds like the others. Then we have the X180 games which since the reveal at E3 have been downgraded? Isn't that strange? Or are MS working in reverse? KI gone from 1080p 60fps to 720p? Ryse 1080p to 900p? Dead Rising I read somewhere has different resolutions? Yet everyday we hear from Redmond about clouds, bandwidth and balance.Titanfall has only been ever shown on PC. Someone is lying? Angelus son if you think these downgrades are upgrades then you should have went to Specsavers son as your a) blind? B)fanboy? C) plain stupid? |
Well. Battlefield 4 will not be running at 1920x1080 on the Playstation 4, I'm pretty sure. - Even then it's only equivalent to a PC's "Medium" settings.
As for Polygons, "more is better" is not always true.
Say you have a square object in a game, like a box or a crate.
You would not be able to tell the difference if it was a handfull of Polygons or in the Millions, it just won't benefit from the increased polygons.
Often game developers will build assets for a game, then cull the polygons in areas where it wouldn't make much difference to image quality in order to conserve on processing power, the extra processing power that is freed up by having less Polygons can then be spent on something else which could increase the overall scenes image quality more drastically.
Still, at-least on the PC you don't have to make any types of sacrifces, you will have 10's of millions of Polygons in any one scene with Star Citizen which looks like it's going to be the most poly-heavy game in the next couple of years. :)
