I dont think it works that way. Take-Two market cap in 2012 was only 1.11 billion USD. If Nintendo bought the company at that time, Rockstar would have no choice but to release GTAV as a WiiU exclusive. But buying exclusivity from Take-Two would be an entirely different matter.

Rockstar would probably leave Take-Two before that happened and buy the GTA IP for themselves.

I think it was Miyamoto that went on record in an interview and said the reason they don't bother buying up developers anymore is talent flight.
Everyone from the original Metroid Prime has already left Retro, for instance.
