I can literally customize every single aspect of my living room with Linux running EVERYTHING. FUCK YOU WINDOWS. Useless OS.

Once you've sat on the couch with a controller (xbox or ps3 you choose) and download a game for $15 which is $60 on consoles and you're playing it at MUCH better graphical settings then you'll KNOW that this isn't some ruse. This is real.

Don't be afraid of change people. Playstation isn't going anywhere... The Xbox however... Might just be displaced.

you can already do that with steam. perhaps you should use it in its current statre. as it does what you state as is on windows. also your not getting linux, your getting steams version of it. who knows what they may or may not change. but the bolded and underlined is already a possibiliy, its steam big picture. Have you used it yet? they also have steam for linux, so you can make your linux box with steam and big picture. that all this is.

I know. That's what I'm doing every day (my flatmate is a massive Valve fanboy and spends a ton of his money on Steam games). Yes I have used it.

Point is, if the consolidate the service then the average gamer will see the benefit of Steam. Basically the Xbox One was supposed to be what the Steambox will be.

You really don't think this is gonna be a game changer?

it cant be. it would have to be new. it isnt. any one who wants this can do it with a windows pc. just simply plug the pc into your tv ans use steam. It cant compete with the one as it lacks kinect. with out voice control it doesn't offer the ease of xbox one for watching media. I plan on using the xbox one as my main media device for streaming video and watching tv, and i plan on using my pc with steam for gaming. but all the steam box is is a pc without windows, and those have not done well. apple didnt do well (in the pc market share area), chrome hasn't done well, linux (ubuntu) hasn't done well. i think it will be good for steam and valve as it will expand their audience, but not massivly or in a game changing way. more just one more step along valves path. even steam wasn't a game changer in the begining, it took many steps and years.
