I have lived in China (Shanghai specifically back in 2008) and there are legit stores that actually sells consoles and at the same price as its being sold in Hong Kong. There is a niche community of console players in China, especially if you add the foreign students who studies there but they are mainly a PC market like South Korea.
Edit: To those who are saying there is a lot of poverty in China, that is true but there is also a huge middle class now in China because of their incredible economy. Not saying that the Big 3 will suddenly have astronomical console sales in a PC dominated market but they may find the boosts they need for sales in China.
