I'd say:it does not matter how much more powerfull a pc is,as long as you don't have the money to use this ressources.
Another problem:As soon as 3d games look really good(and they will with the next gen) noone cares about specs.
You can have a 1mio x more powerfull pc -the game won't look much better than a real good looking game as there s not much room for improvement when games look really good.
