The gap increased this week. What are the odds that the gap increases even more next week? I say quite high.

ok i think your confused, MH4 sales are no less than 2.43mil sales which puts under MHP3 by around 150k at a worse case scenario.
MHP3 released during holiday (Dec) meaning people spend more money, thus more sales. if MHP3 released in Sept as well it would of sold much less in its 2nd week. It'll sell more than 3mil lifetime, much much more!

I'm looking at the numbers provided in OP. It doesn't say that MH4 is at 2.43M.
Also, there's much more competition in December.
