Its a domino effect. One studio releases more, other studios release more, more people are in the market, players get cheaper because of economies of scale and R+D costs have been recouped, studios release more movies, rinse, wash, repeat.
Also, I am not sure if this is specifically talking about catalog titles or if this includes the new theatrical stuff.
