Several problems leap out for me.
No.1 I already own a very good PC that plays games. And if/when I decide to upgrade or buy another it won't be an over-priced SFF PC a la Steam Box. The price would have to be very competitive with the current crop of next-gen systems. Even then I just don't know if I would eschew my full fledged gaming PC for one of these.
No. 2 Games. So far this is sounding like a custom Linux based PC which will rely on STREAMING windows based games from your windows based PC for the many games that are not compatible with Linux. Unless a lot more developers jump on board with Linux development I can't see using a Steam Box to play those games across my home network.
