That means games would have to be specially designed to work on Linux... I doubt Big publishers would spend the money to do so, least not on launch days... And it will be mostly filled with indie games

So, no... Its not gonna work... Windows is popular cause it has the third party backing it up not only cause of games, but also other software...

Its like Microsoft trying to compete in the phone market
