In terms of a balanced machine, what concerns me with that, as a peice of tech the XboxOne Seems less balanced in terms of just being a well thought out machine. It's larger than the PS4, it has an external power supply, the controllers need batteries, you can't swap the hard disk. All of these things concern me with the quality of the engineers. They can say on one hand that they have a more balanced console but cannot get the basics right in terms of those basics, how can i believe their engineers are better than Sony's at this point. Crazy. In terms of raw power/power, i think some things will definately be toned down in XbO games compared to PS4, but you have to question how much of that you will notice. going down to 900p you might not notice a difference. So i agree with that, but saying the frame rate might be a single digit, well as long as its under 5 FPS thats fine, but if its more like 9, thats a problem. Unfortunately this argument is going to continue way past console release. :( |
And you listed a lot of the reasons why I haven't bought Xbox360 and are not planning a One right now... but for the games (the exclusives in them don't interest me much) their fans seem to like and I don't believe it will be "unplayable" compared to PS4... So even if there is 30 to 50% difference in the first party they can be well hidden, we saw in PS3 that depending on the willingness of the developer the came can look and play a lot better than you think when looking at lazy devs... for the sake of my xbones friends I hope devs try their better on both and the only difference we see is the actual raw dif not because of poor coding, so even if PS4 are a lot better (that is what a lot think) a xbone version is enjoyable and in the 1st party they have the blast they expect.
@imagedvl: Yes I agree with you, and MS was probably surprise that Sony got 8Gb with GDDR5, but they won't public assume that and will try their best to show that their option is a valid one.
