You said a lot, whether by lenghty comparison or heavy implication.

FYI, MS didn't even try their hardest this gen....they kept 2008 prices even to this day. I don't have to remind you how many slims and price cuts PS3 went through to close the gap. Your porbably talking about global sales, but corporations battle it out in terms of profits....and sorry but 360 in is net profit for a while where as PS3 is still sub 2 billion in the red from its early years.

Lol, please don't tell me you typed that 2nd paragraph with a straight face.  Kept 2008 prices?  Is that why the high end SKU is still $399?  Oh wait, it's $249, now.  And with more features and a larger HDD.  And in 2011, for the last few months of the year, they were throwing $50-$100 gift cards around like candy with every 360 SKU.  As far as the entry price, it's not hard to keep it the same when you've dropped it to $199, which was lower than even the Wii's price at the time.

And MS didn't even try their hardest?  Kinda makes you look foolish for supporting them if you truly believe that.  Fact is, they did try there damndest last gen.  Paid a shit load of money for exclusives (whether true or timed).  The above price cut illustrates this, too, as the $199 price kept them in the red for longer.  They paid top dollar to advertise the shit out of their games and Kinect.  Yet, they still ended last.  I hate to see what happens this gen, since they seem to be trying less than they did last gen.

And as far as profits go, the Xbox still hasn't become a profitable venture for MS.  Overall, they are still billions in the hole that came from the original Xbox.  Why do you think we keep hearing investors demand MS drop the Xbox and focus on the dropping PC sales?  Who knows if it will every become profitable, overall.  Especially, if this gen plays out like it seems it will.

To my knowledge, there is no news of the 250 gig kinect bundle being less then 399. Otherwise, 2008 prices are still in effect today, albiet with more value packed in over the years. But that in itself isn't a system seller, the price is still the price. You're seriosuly not playing the gift card....card, something that was not global in scale and certainly does not have the same impact as a honest/permanent price cut.

MS didn't try their hardest.....in that they kept prices higher for the sake of profit, though that meant that Sony would catch up with 2 slims and 2 price cuts in the last 4 years. They ended last......LOL ok im sure as MS is counting their profit for 360 as we speak while Sony is still praying the PS3 can make a net profit before its discontinued (if they are lucky)

Unfortunate that MS is now trying to clean up Don Mattricks mess though.
