Dude... It is always a good thing for anyone who "likes" a product to see some successfull story about it (small or big). When you ask why, I think it is good, it is DEFINTELY because of preferences... Now, you asking me "why I would see this as a good thing" is just a prelud to a stupid argumentation about Nokia and why I like it or not and blah and blah... Just looking at your posts in all thread related to Sony; clearly shows how this will go.

I don't really care about Nokia or Sony's phones, it's just I didn't get why you think it's good to see an obvious winner.  I think it's fine for you to have a preference and I hope its fine for me to have a preference, and I hope that we don't have to have the same preference.  Life would be boring that way.

I hope I haven't been that bad (@bolded).

No you did not :) Honnestly, was just stating that you have a preference!
And of course it is fine to have preferences. So to anwser your initial question, when you prefer a product; it is always good to see it performing I think (at least from my point of view).

On the other hand, I hope you understand why I was not that excited to move forward with that question as usually (esp. in certain thread with Sony or Microsoft involved) it may becomes just a long and painfull argumentation; I was not really interested by that.
